How to learn a second language

The main point is you have to take a lot of risks when you speak a language and guess, so your brain gets used trying to feel the language instead of just repeating it. However, I think this is half true. I know from Learning Polish, which I still am doing, I started with words, then sentences of simple construction. Then much latter I was able to start to guess, but only after I herd the language over and over and over, so the extrapolations were more on par with fill in the blank than any great leap of genius. So just know that you have to hear the language over and over 100,000s of times and varried constructions, before you get this so called ‘feel for the language’ everyone likes to boast about.
