Reading signs to increase vocabulary
Do you want to increase your vocabulary in a foreign language? One of the first things I notice when I go to a foreign country is the signs. Signs, signs everywhere are signs as the song goes. The first words you can recognize are the most important and closest to English. For example hotel, toleta, ticket or some variation of the word police. After that I start to see Latin based root word embedded in some conjugated declinated version of a foreign word. Sign reading almost becomes like a game. Even if the letters are Cyrillic you will quickly be able to decode the letters. Sign reading is not some magic trick to learn languages but you will increase your foreign language vocabulary.
