“You’ve got to turn off the Spanish television set” “You’re just forced to speak English, and that just makes you learn the language faster,” I know this sounds odd and this is the politically incorrect thing to say, and I’m going to get myself in trouble,” Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Conversely if you want to learn Spanish you must turn off your English language TV or at least change your televsion set to Spanish, as well as you mind set. Schwarzenegger followed his own advice when he emigrated from Austria. He avoided anything in German. The bottom line is if you want to learn a language well, even if you live in a country where people speak your native language, you need to create an environment for language immersion. This includes terminating your native language TV.
