Early writing and reading might be used as a  sign of stable mental funtion latter in life. There was a study a few years back which examined nun’s early childhood writings. Those nuns who wrote with insight and clarity when they were young had strong mental skills when they were old compared to their other nuns living in the same convent where ceteris paribus could be said to apply. If someone ready and wrote with dept when they were young chances are their brain is more resilient to decline. This all may be true but the trueth is if you use your brain, with things like learning a language at any age you can keep or improve your mental function.
