Accent - Language learning technique
Here is a quick tip for learning a language. This language learning technique is simple. When you do not know a word in your target language substitute an English word. Especially it it’s a higher-level word. And one more thing, say it with the accent of your target language. Better yet change it a little to conform to the grammar of your target language. Why? Latin is everywhere and once you learn the core native vocabulary of your target language many higher words have Latin origins or are universal. For example, Optimization is English and optymalizacja is Polish. Once you know endings you can take almost any English word and change it into your target language, and you have a good chance of being right or understood or at least have some fun.
Another reason is English is everywhere and maybe people will accept your use of an English word if used write. For example, the English verb ‘to shop’ in Polish I will make this “Shoperowac” ‘Chce shoperowac na galleria.’ ‘ I want to go shopping in the galleria.’ Now it’s not proper Polish, of course, but if I say it people understand it and smile. This is a fun language learning technique. It will help you practise your accent and grammar in a fun way and you will pick up some vocabulary. And learning a language is about having fun.
