Two books to learn a foreign language

Two books to learn a foreign language

Once you learn the basic vocabulary of a language what next? How to you actually learn a language? I think you should read. If you can read two books in a language you will make huge progress. It will take your language learning to the next level. In English, I do not read fiction. I read non fiction but I always had dreamed of being one of those person who could read a fiction book for pleasure. I guess I felt guilty when I read fiction, like I could be doing something more productive. Since I started reading in Polish I enjoy fiction as much as non fiction, both are engaging for my left brain mind and I feel like I am doing something productive. Learning a language is an excellent opportunity to free your mind.

So set a simple goal of reading two books in a foreign language and you will take your language learning to another level, as well as breaking down some barriers if you are a non fiction reader in your native language.

I learned a good deal of French as a child by reading the Tintin books. As Mark Biernet points out, pictures are a great help.

@ Basha I looked up the Tintin books, they look super beautiful illustrations and an interesting time that is the early to mid part of the 20th century. I am going to look tomarrow for them in a booksore, if they have them in Polish. I always need to improve my Polish which is not really my native language.
