National Academy for child development has a page that talks about sequential processing and you can even take a test online brain function test This gives you concrete way to increase your brain function. It is not abstract or fringe science. It is a way that you can increase your sequential processing and therefore perform and think better. They sell software for this, but too pricey for me, and there are other free ones on the market if you look. However, if you ask me, the best way to increase your brain function learn a language. You will employ all parts of your brain and stretch it in ways you could never imagine. Plus its useful, and more interesting that focused sequential processing drills.
