Crimea, people and safety
Being in Crimea, Ukraine I feel very safe. The people are friendly and police are everywhere. It is remarkable that you can have so many people from, mostly the CIS in one concentrated place, and it is clean nd safe. Plenty of bank machines for cash. No aggressive people or people who look like they will steal from you, just relaxed vacationers. We stayed in guest houses with shared kitchens and everyone was friendly we left the doors unlocked most of the time while in the house, without even a thought of security. One thing though. The people like to talk. Even if you do not understand, Ukrainian or Russian they will make you understand by talking to you and showing you until you understand a word. We are talking a 26 hour train back to Lviv then Krakow and I will not use English, not for fear of my safety, rather I know that Ukrainians are very friendly and would love to talk to a native English speaker, and its a long trip.
