Love and languages
This may see rather cliché, but I have never, meet someone in a relationship with someone who did not start picking up the language though osmosis. My girlfriend could barely speak English when I met her. After two years in our relationship she teaches English and my Polish is pretty good. It is just not you are around the language, and do bilingual things like watch DVD in both languages, but love inspires you to do great and wondrous things that those who are not in love do not understand. Unfortunately love just happens and can not be willed. But if your destiny is with someone who speaks another language, guess what you will be doing soon.
